Good evening,I hope someone will be able to help me on my question which is as follows:-

example:- Mr. A (my grandfather)marries Miss B,(my grandmother) they have 5 children. How do I find out which of these five children is my great grandfather or great grandmother.

Many thanks for your kind replies,

Sincerely

Colleen Sharpe

You do it the other way round. You find the birth of your parents which should give you the names of your grandparents, otherwise you cannot be sure that you have the correct greatgrandparents.

You seem to have things a bit backwards.

Your Great Grandfather or Great Grandmother would be the Father or Mother of Mr. A.

To get information about your Great grandparents, find out what info you can gather, i.e. birthdate, where lived etc., of Mr A, your Grandfather.

Search census records for that place and time for Mr. A and that should give you his parents name.

If you post the info for Mr. A here, i.e. Name, birth date, where born etc (give as much info you can), someone here would be glad to search the census records or other available files and get you answers.
