All, I am searching for information about my great grandfather, Montgomery Berry, who was born in Georgia -circa 1845. He later lived in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and was married to Isabella Berry. From this this union, twelve children were born in Alabama. He died in Alabama.

His death record list his father as Montgomery Berry Sr. and mother as Julie Williams, both born in North Carolina.

Here he is in records going back. I assume, based on where his family is from & lived, they were slaves prior to the Civil War.
